The Company has applied for tenements in four project areas presenting different value propositions and exploration strategies with the primary aim to initially identify economic bauxite resources.
In conjunction with local communities, environmental and key stake holders, the Company has developed a two stage business plan.
Stage 1: (Shorter Term) The exportation of bauxite Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) to overseas customers at a rate of >3 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa)
Stage 2: (Longer Term) To carry out a feasibility study for the construction and operation of an alumina refinery with an ultimate output capacity of 800,000 tonnes per annum.
The Company has commenced its exploration and drilling programs to enable resource evaluations in order to develop a sustainable DSO bauxite export industry and to assess potential resources with a view to the development of an alumina refinery.
A review of the historical drilling data complemented by current drilling results, is being carried out. This will determine the historical data quality, the resource potential and to assess the potential for further additional exploration work.
Infrastructure providers and shipping options are being assessed to support the DSO program. Negotiations are currently underway as to the possibility of a number of FOB spot shipments in the shorter term.
The Company has commenced scoping the preliminary and infrastructure studies necessary for building an alumina refinery to process the bauxite into alumina.
